The maker of a child-resistant cannabis storage lock box accused a rival packaging company of knocking off its patented design after licensing talks allegedly failed.
Rhode Island-based Contempo Card Co. Inc. accused Superior Bindery Inc. and a Massachusetts chain of medical marijuana dispensaries of making and marketing a lookalike version of Contempo’s patented Vault Box, which is designed to protect children from accessing potentially harmful cannabis products, according to a complaint filed August 29 in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
