Noteworthy Information: In 2016, over 70% of Florida voters had approved Amendment 2, authorizing the use of medical marijuana for those with debilitating conditions. Only oils (which can be vaped), tinctures, sprays and edibles are allowed. The state has a ban on smoking medical marijuana but a Leon County circuit court judge ruled in May that the smoking ban is unconstitutional. The Department of Health is appealing the decision. Florida has low-THC cannabis, where the dried flowers contain 0.8 percent or less of tetrahydrocannabinol and more than 10 percent of cannabidiol weight for weight, and medical marijuana, which means all parts of any plant of the genus Cannabis. All medical marijuana treatment centers in Florida are authorized to deliver statewide.
