Noteworthy Information: Utah voters approved Proposition 2 on November 6, 2018, allowing the use of medical marijuana for certain illnesses, such as cancer and PTSD. Patients with a qualifying condition can obtain a recommendation for marijuana from a physician. Facilities will be authorized to grow and sell medical and their licensing and registration fees will fund the program. A provision effective January 1, 2021, allows medical marijuana card holders who live more than 100 miles from a dispensary to grow up to six plants for personal use. Smoking cannabis is prohibited. Patients can purchase up to two ounces of cannabis flower or cannabis product that has no more than 10 grams of THC or CBD during a 14-day period.
